Wild Turkey gobbles them up!
Dave
once again romped to victory against a quality field of competitors, and did it
without even re-buying. Dave was 4th in chips out of 4 players at the
end of the re-buy period, and it was Gavin who hit the front knocking out Tom
to take a big chip lead over Carol & Dave. Gav pursued his trademark
aggressive strategy and took the fight to the short stacks, but was frustrated
by a cold deck which ultimately backed him into a corner and resulted in his
elimination on the bubble. Heads up was short lived and ended on the Omaha
Hi-Lo round when Carol called All-n against Dave with trip Queens – he
showed down trip 5’s in disappointment only for somebody to point out
that he actually had a King High straight for ultimate glory! Dave tops off a
great championships performance in 2009 – 5 Card Draw Champion, Omaha
Hi-Lo Champion, and now Champion of Champions. I’d like to take this
opportunity to thank Carol & Dave for their continued hospitality, and to
congratulate them for finally winning some of their money back off us! Finally,
to everybody who hit a cold deck, got sucked out on, or just plain went mental
and blew up – there’s always another tournament…
